Competitive landscape analysis on a software product for evacuation simulation
The Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate (DHS S&T) Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA) engaged FirstLink to conduct a competitive landscape analysis on an evacuation simulation tool that was being developed by a small company.
Outcome
FirstLink examined existing solutions that were commercially available, as well as capabilities in development by industry, government and academia. This examination yielded the identification of 16 competitive solutions. These solutions were then assessed across more than 20 factors. This comparative analysis found that only one solution was directly competitive, while the others represented indirect competition.
